Black Lives Matter protest planned for Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A Black Lives Matter protest is being planned in Medicine Hat on Friday.

A poster for the event says: “protesting in honour of George Floyd and the thousands killed by police brutality” and asks attendees to bring “signs, mask, and your voice!”

The protest will take place at 4 p.m. outside city hall.

A “protest against racial discrimination” is planned for Thursday in Lethbridge outside city hall.

Organizers for that event are emphasizing this is a peaceful protest, and are asking people to wear masks and observe social distancing as much as possible.
