Natural gas up, electricity down for June

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat utility customers will see one price go up and one price go down this month.

Utility rates for June were released by the City of Medicine Hat on Monday.

Natural gas will cost residents $3.152 per gigajoule for June. That’s up from $2.272 per gigajoule last month.

The June electricity rate is set at 5.576 cents per kilowatt hour, down from 5.607 cents in May.

Both rates are determined based on the average set by other providers.

The natural gas price is in the middle of the $3.923 at AltaGas and $2.381 set by Direct Energy.

The high power price in the province for June is 6.007 cents, set by Direct Energy. The low price is 5.367 cents set by Enmax.
