COVID-19: 57 new cases, recoveries keep rising

EDMONTON- The Province of Alberta is reporting 57 new cases of the virus today (May. 17) bringing the total number of active cases to 1064.

One more Albertan is confirmed to have died.

In Medicine Hat, the number of COVID-19 cases remain at 35 . Five cases are still active and 30 have recovered.

In Brooks, there are 80 active cases of the virus, down from three yesterday. Recovered cases now exceed the one-thousand mark , with 1002 cases recovered. The city of Brooks has seen 1089 confirmed cases in total and seven deaths relating to the virus.

Elsewhere in the South Zone, there are three active cases in the Cypress County and seven recovered cases.

The County of Newell has three active cases and 11 recovered cases.

The city of Lethbridge has 21 confirmed cases of the virus. Four are active and 17 cases have recovered.
