MEDICINE HAT AB- A honk for heroes.

It was a trip back in time Sunday as a parade of cars said thank-you to those on the front lines.

“It was cool. All the old cars are really interesting to see,” said hospital worker Taylor Prins.

Their engines roared, a song of appreciation for workers at the Medicine Hat hospital battling an unprecedented pandemic.

” It’s definitely a tough time right now I know that the world is definitely suffering. Nurses and doctors everyone in the health care industry is definitely needed right now and it is a tough time for sure,” Prins said.

A tough time made a little brighter thanks to some people with a lot of love for old cars.

The Friday Night Cruisers and the Medicine Hat Vintage Vehicle Club participated in the event.

“We just like the old cars, remember the good days when this stuff wasn’t going on or anything else. It was always easy to get along with, easy to get around town, ” said organizer Willie Langille.

And word spread fast.

“This person told that person and that person told this person and then it turned into everyone in town that could make it,” Langille said.

All to provide a brief moment of nostalgia for those fighting a virus that like the cars will end up in history.
