Apr 24, 2020 | 7:36 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Quonset Days 2020 is the latest summer event that has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A statement from the committee Friday morning says, “We completely agree with the decision of Alberta Health officials in the cancellation of all summer festivals. The health and recovery of all Albertans need to be the number one priority.”

They say the Quonset Days Foundation is committed to still supporting the ALS Society of Alberta.

“While we are currently facing a tough economic situation, we will recover. We want to thank all sponsors who have been so generous to our cause in the past and present.”

Quonset Days was to be held July 17 and 18 on the Biemans acreage southeast of Seven Persons.

For those who have purchased tickets, refunds will be offered soon.

If you wish to make a donation to the ALS Society of Alberta visit quonsetdays.com or contact one of the board members.

“The fight to end ALS carries on through all the chaos in the world right now. The ALS Society of Alberta needs your support more than ever. We will continue our devotion to bringing an end to this awful disease.”

They say the planning for Quonset Days 2021 starts today.
