County of Newell closes facilities

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The County of Newell has closed its facilities until further notice to better ensure the safety and health of everyone during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The county posted the notice on its website April 20, along with some of the measures in place so that residents can still conduct necessary business.
That information includes the ways residents can pay a bill, get a fire permit and how to participate in MPC or council meetings.
Most of the staff are working from home and their phones are being forwarded. A staff directory is available online at countyofnewell.ab.ca/p/staff-directory. County residents can also contact the office with their questions and the calls can be redirected.
