I know the bar is high for you and you expect to do things very well. On a scale of one to 10, you like to do things at like a nine or 10 because you’re just that type of person.

Most likely you’re a high functioning, type A, achiever. You want to do well, 8, 9, 10 well,  but I’m here to tell you there is a lot of value in four, five and six. There is some value even in two and three – something is better than nothing and done is better than perfect.

You don’t have to be perfect all the time. You really, really don’t. Perfection is highly overrated. Imperfection, understated.

Do your job to the best of your abilities. Do your life to the best of your abilities despite and because of what’s going on around you. If you can commit to 1% of your day for your own personal development, that’s like about, 10 minutes, just 1% of your day to read positive books, to learn new skills, to check out a new podcast, to do something that’s making you better tomorrow than you were yesterday.

That’s all we can ask. You don’t have to be perfect, but always be growing; physically, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, socially.

1% of your day, it’s an investment in you that will pay dividends for you emotionally well future!
