Working from home (Tiffany Goodwein/ CHAT News Today)
in self isolation

Reporting from quarantine I’m Tiffany Goodwein

I didn’t think I’d be here. I don’t think anybody did. I’m in self isolation.

Let me be clear, I don’t have COVID-19., but like many I’m self isolating to protect others.

It all started after a really bad migraine lasting several days turned into a fever, chills, and other symptoms on Sunday.

Working in the newsroom, the message spoken by the prime minister blaring every 10 minutes on the T.V screen was clear: If you’re sick , stay home.

So that’s when I decided to go home, and now here we are.

Technically I am in my second day of self isolation. My first day I was pretty wiped out and spent most of the day sleeping, and trying to watch Netflix.

But before you dismiss my first day, it reached a climax after my toilet decided to over flow itself and send the great flood of 2020 to my bathroom floor and hallway. Lovely.

The toilet fiasco sent a good inch of water on my floor. Stunned, I scoured my house in a panic looking for a plunger and anything…I mean ANYTHING to clean up the water.

It was in that moment I realized that being in self-isolation wasn’t going to be as easy as sleeping and watching Netflix.

You see, I am a very independent person. If I want something, I go get it. I’ve always been like that, in my career, and my personal life. I take pride in doing things and accomplishing things on my own. In self-isolation however, in order to successfully self-isolate, you can’t leave, and you have to at times rely on other people for support. While I’m only two days in I predict that’s probably going to be one of my greatest challenges; asking others for help—and of course staying entertained while in the confines of my house.

Stay tuned. I’ll be blogging daily.

What have you been doing during self-isolation ? Let us know !

Thanks for reading.
