MEDICINE HAT – With shorter supply chains, Premium Sausage and Deerview Meats are still able to provide food supplies to Hatters. And the owners of both companies say they will continue to do so while they can.

“We will be kicking sausage out of here,” said Mark Penner, owner of Premium Sausage in Seven Persons on Saturday.

The same goes for Chris Deering, owner of Deerview Meats, telling CHAT News on Saturday that they will be open for business, “as long as we’re allowed to be open.”

Both businesses say they have been busy in the past week and their respect shops will be adhering to their regular Sunday closures.

Deering said customers should expect some increased social distancing protocols in place come Monday with Penner saying his business has waived minimum fees for delivery.

And both asked for the public’s adherence to self-regulation when it comes to the amount of food they want to buy – buying what they need.
