With schools closed, the Medicine Hat Firefighters Association is trying to give children another option when it comes to their learning regime

On Tuesday – March 24th – at 10am, the association will be giving a unique virtual fire station tour on Facebook Live.

“We were close to 35,000 views.”

“I was pretty surprised, i posted it onto our facebook page and in moments we had lots of people resharing it, and last time I checked we were at close to 35,000 views for that post. Big response,” said Curtis Noble, President of the Medicine Hat Firefighters Association.

Viewers will get the opportunity to tour the trucks, be a part of a training scenario, and ask questions to members of the fire department.

Noble has said that the interest in the event has been huge.

He added that he is hoping this experience can inspire other organizations to do something similar with their own programs.

“Ive seen people do virutal q and a’s before but this seems a little new. We are trying to do it with facebook live, ive seen other organizations do something similar but yeah, we are hoping something like this can take off and we will see what kind of interest we get,” said Noble.

“Please excuse us, we aren’t social media experts. It might be a little clunky but we will try.”
