Online concert series planned to support local musicians amid COVID-19

MEDICINE HAT AB.-With many bars and restaurants closing their doors or reducing their hours uncertainty prevails for local musicians who rely on those venues to perform in.
But a Medicine Hat musician and teacher is committed to keep the music playing by turning to cyberspace and social media to give local bands an opportunity to perform and share their music.
Starting tomorrow, March 19, at 6 p.m. an online concert will be live streamed on their Facebook page ‘ The Show Must Go On’.
“I know a lot of my musician contacts and friends, they solely rely on the money they make performing, so now they are looking into the future and seeing all these events these parties even just pub nights being cancelled, and understandably we are supportive of what our government is trying to do, but it’s also kind of a daunting process that these things that we are used to setting up for income are now out for lunch,” said Mallory Stewart.
