The Medicine Hat College Rattlers Women’s basketball team finished their season on a high-note, as they placed 5th in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Championship.

It was an emotional game for 5th year Rattlers Morgan Muir, and Paige Cooper, who finished their ACAC career with a 61 to 57 victory over the University Of Alberta Augustana Vikings at Medicine hat College.

“I don’t think I could have found a better team to be on.”

After not winning a game until the end of October, the Rattlers turned their season around and finished 11-10 going into the playoffs. When Cooper was asked about her final season as a Rattler she said ” I don’t think I could have found a better team to be on. From where we started at the beginning of the year, to now, we didn’t expect to be where we ended up.”

The Rattlers were a very young group this season, leaning heavily on the veteran leadership that Muir, and Cooper, provided for the team. They both agreed that the team really started to click as the year progressed, as they won 6 out of 10 games going into the playoffs.

” It’s been a huge part of who I am. “

When asked about how playing for the Rattlers impacted her life, Muir said “I’ve been at the college for 5 years, and it has really shaped my young adult life. It’s been a huge part of who I am.”

The player of the game for the Rattlers was 3rd year player Katelyn Rozdeba, while Muir was crowned a tournament all-star.
