Ridley to hit broadcasting milestone in March

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The voice of the Medicine Hat Tigers is hitting another milestone in his broadcasting career.

On March 14, Bob Ridley will call his 4,000th game for the Medicine Hat Tigers, when they host the Swift Current Broncos at the Canalta Centre, the team announced Friday morning.

Ridley has been with the Tigers since their first season in 1970, and has only missed one game during his tenure.

In addition to calling games for the Tigers, Ridley also drove the team bus for many years.

Through Ridley’s career, he has received numerous awards and honours. He received the Bell Memorial Award from Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 2005 and in 2019, was inducted into both the Hockey Alberta Hall of Fame and the Western Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
