One dead following Monday morning highway collision

MEDICINE HAT, AB — A 40-year-old man has died following a motor vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway Monday morning.

The collision occurred at approximately 10 a.m. in the westbound lane of the highway before the Box Springs Road Northwest exit.

The man was the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, police say.

Investigators remain on scene to investigate the cause of the collision, and westbound traffic on the highway was reduced to one lane until 3:30 p.m.
