American counterfeit cash being passed in city

MEDICINE HAT, AB – City police are warning the public and merchants to be on the lookout for counterfeit American $20 bills.

Police say the funny money has been passed at a number local businesses with the quality of the paper being similar to regular copy paper and detail in the bills being sub-standard.

The bills are also notable for their serial number which all end with 2814 B.

Those dealing with foreign currency are being asked to be diligent when accepting bills and to contact city police if they encounter similar counterfeit cash to the US bills at 403-529-8400.
