Cubs begin HJHL playoffs Thursday

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Cubs have released their schedule for the first round of Heritage Junior Hockey League Playoffs.

The Cubs, who finished the season in third place in the South Division, will take on the Strathmore Wheatland Kings in a best-of-five playoff series.

The series begins Thursday evening at 8:15 p.m. at the Kinplex. Game 2 will take place Friday in Strathmore at 8 p.m., with Game 3 in Medicine Hat on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Kinplex.

If the series is not decided in the first three games, Game 4 will take place February 18 in Strathmore, and Game 5 runs February 19 in Medicine Hat.

Last year, the Cubs and Wheatland Kings met in the first round of the playoffs, with the Cubs sweeping the series.
