Hatters flock to Cypress Hills for annual Winter Festival
Elkwater, AB – The mild temperatures may have melted the snow across southeastern Alberta but it was a different case in the Cypress Hills on Saturday.
The park hosted its annual Winter Festival with hundreds turning out to try their hand at cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing and sledding.
Chris Dodds, Cypress Hills education coordinator, said turnout for the event was “awesome.”
“The weather got really warm and really windy but that didn’t scare people away,” said Dodds. “The ski hill was packed, we were packed at the learning centre, the wagon ride was great and Medicine Hat came out.”
