MEDICINE HAT, AB – The snowmelt and ongoing freeze-thaw cycle we’re seeing this month are the perfect conditions to create potholes on roadways.

The city’s Manager of Operations Jeremy Petryshyn says crews are out daily working on repairs with three 2-man crews.

Their main concern is to fix the potholes on the roads with the most traffic.

“We’re addressing about 300 per day so that’s what we’ve been getting for the last week here since the temperatures have warmed up. The public can call in if they see any potholes to the department and we’ll address them as soon as possible.”

Petryshyn says right now Municipal Works gets about 4-5 phone calls a day about potholes.

The Municipal Works office number is 403-529-8177.
