Dunmore, AB – Regular service has resumed for 40-Mile Gas Co-op customers affected by a fire at one of its regulators near the Clearwater District Hall.

Approximately 50 customers were left without natural gas following the incident which occurred at 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Emergency supplies were trucked in with Cam Klatt, general manager of the co-op, saying regular service has resumed as of Saturday morning.

Klatt says the utility has been assisted by the Alberta Energy Regulator in investigating the incident and believe they have narrowed down the cause. However, they are awaiting some testing to be completed before finalizing a report on the incident.

Cypress County Fire was dispatched to the scene to put out the blaze with Klatt thanking first responders and county officials in dealing with the incident.
