MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Police Commission has a new chair to begin 2020.

Sandy Redden was the vice-chair of the commission for the last three years and had her first meeting as chair last night.

She was also the chair of the Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter for many years and has been involved with several boards.

Redden says it’s going to be a very busy year for the commission.

“Chief McGrogan is retiring in November so we are in the process now actively of getting all of our information together to look at advertising this position and recruiting so it will be a very big year and it hasn’t happened for a number of years.”

Past chair Greg Keen’s term was up at the end of last year.

Miles Thorson was also sworn in as a new member of the police commission.
