Medicine Hat, AB – A longtime downtown florist and city alderman has died.
George William Renner died on Thursday at the age of 88.
Renner served as a Medicine Hat alderman over two different tenures, 1966 to 1971 and 1992 to 2001.
Flags at city buildings will be put at half staff on Jan. 20 and 21 in respect to his service.
A funeral service will be held on Jan. 21 at Fifth Avenue Memorial United Church starting at 1:30 p.m. followed by a burial at Hillside Cemetary.
