Tkachuk on turtling against Kassian: ‘It was probably the right thing to do’
Edmonton Oilers winger Zack Kassian was suspended for two games by the NHL on Monday, two days after he rag-dolled and slobberknocked a turtling Matthew Tkachuk on national TV.
Kassian skated with the Oilers at Rogers Place earlier Monday but he did not speak to media afterwards ahead of his meeting with league’s Player Safety Department.
The league said in a statement that Kassian was suspended without pay and will forfeit US$20,967.74 under terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Meanwhile in Montreal, Tkachuk, after a pre-game skate with his Calgary Flames teammates, told reporters if he had to do it all over again he would have done the same thing.
