Jan 5, 2020 | 11:41 AM

Melville, Sask. – Officials are investigating the discovery of a man’s body in a burned home in eastern Saskatchewan.

RCMP say they responded to a report of a house fire in Melville at around 1;30 a.m. Saturday.

They say the house was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived and firefighters were trying to extinguish the blaze.

Police say that when it was safe for emergency personnel to enter, they found a man who was dead.

They say the fire doesn’t appear suspicious, but that they’ll continue to investigate with the assistance of the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and a provincial fire scene examiner.

The coroners service has also ordered an autopsy.
