Snow squall warning in effect for Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat and the surrounding area are currently under a snow squall warning.

The warning covers Medicine Hat, Cypress County, the County of 40 Mile, the County of Newell and

Special Area No. 2. Similar warnings have also been put in place in Brooks and Bassano.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably, according to a release from Environment Canada. They add changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.
