Sillinger recognized as WHL Rookie of the Month

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Cole Sillinger has been recognized by the Western Hockey League for the second time this season.

The Medicine Hat Tigers forward was named the WHL’s Rookie of the Month for the month of December, the league announced Thursday.

It is the second time Sillinger has received the award this season. He was previously awarded Rookie of the Month for September/October.

In December, Sillinger notched 19 points, with 15 of those points being assists.

He currently leads all rookies in the WHL with 37 points (12 goals-25 assists) in 31 games.

The Tigers return to action Friday, hosting the Calgary Hitmen at 7:30 p.m. at the Canalta Centre.
