Woman charged in restaurant theft

Medicine Hat, AB–A 36 year old Medicine Hat woman is facing charges following an internal theft investigation.

Police determined an estimated $315,000 was taken from a local restaurant between October 2016 and September of 2019. At the time of the alleged offences, the accused held a managerial position with the company.

Police are not releasing the name of the restaurant but believe the thefts were isolated to the one business.

Nianjiao Yang of Medicine Hat, has been charged with theft over $5,000 and fraud over $5000. Yang is scheduled to appear in court on January 22, 2020.
