MEDICINE HAT, AB — Snow is still on the ground right now, but the Medicine Hat Mavericks are already thinking about the summer.

The team has unveiled their schedule for the 2020 Summer Season in the Western Canadian Baseball League, with several notable games already on the list.

The Mavericks will play 56 games, opening the season at home on May 28 against the Swift Current 57s.

The team will embark on a six game road trip after the home opener, returning to host the Regina Red Sox on June 6.

The Mavericks will play the defending champion Okotoks Dawgs on June 14, and resume the Highway 3 rivalry against the Lethbridge Bulls on June 28.

There will be no Canada Day game at Athletic Park this year, as the Mavericks are on the road to take on the Moose Jaw Miller Express that night.

The WCBL will host its All-Star game in Edmonton on July 19.

The Mavericks wrap up the regular season on August 6 in Brooks.

This year, the Mavericks will be playing in the East Division, after the Yorkton Cardinals and Melville Millionaires announced they were stepping away from the league this year.

The Mavericks have also confirmed several players from last year will return in 2020, including pitchers Flynn Ridley and Owen Steele, along with outfielder Russell Strilchuck.
