ALERT charge three after estimated $20,000 in stolen property seized

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) have arrested three people and seized thousands of dollars worth of suspected stolen property following a recent investigation.

According to a release, an investigation involving ALERT and members of the Medicine Hat Police Service searched a home in Cypress County on December 4.

Police seized approximately 20 grams of methamphetamine, four firearms and a prohibited 50-round drum magazine.

Police also seized an estimated $20,000 worth of suspected stolen property from an outbuilding on the property.

Items seized include tools, machinery and bicycles. A release says police will attempt to return the property to its rightful owners.

Denver Ailsby, 40, or Cypress County, along with Mike Bishop, 37, of Medicine Hat, and Keith Baker, 41, of no fixed address have been arrested and are facing multiple charges. A list of charges was not provided.

The release says the investigation was conducted in response to meth trafficking concerns in the city, and the correlation with property crime offences.
