Near zero visibility in some areas in fog

Foggy Friday to impact travel

UPDATE AT 8:30 AM

5-1-1 Alberta is reporting reduced visibility in fog along Highway 1 this morning, from Alderson west to Bassano.

There is also fog on the Number 3 highway between Grassy Lake and Coaldale.

Environment Canada has issued a fog advisory to the possibility of zero visibility in fog today.

The advisory includes most of Southern Alberta from Lethbridge to Medicine Hat, west to Strathmore and Brooks and north to Oyen.

The fog is expected to lift later today but will return again tonight.

MEDICINE HAT — A fog advisory is in place from Environment Canada that covers most of Southern Alberta, from Lethbridge in the west to Brooks, Strathmore, Drumheller and Oyen regions.

Near zero visibility in fog can be expected making travel hazardous.

The fog is expected to last until the afternoon but return again tonight.

Snowfall warnings are in place for Banff and Jasper National Parks.
