Is it for me?

At Hummingbird MediSpa we use Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Lasers to treat many Medical and Esthetic skincare concerns and conditions. These lasers can be used on most areas of the face and body. It is most commonly used as a treatment for the following:

  • Laser Hair Removal
  • Acne
  • Enlarged Pores
  • Improve the Condition of Aging Skin
  • Improve Skin Laxity
  • Redness or Flushing and Rosacea
  • Small Capillaries (Telangiectasis)
  • Brown/Uneven Pigmentation: Sunspots, Freckles, Melasma (pregnancy mask)
  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Healthy Skin Maintenance

Where can we treat?

Almost anywhere on the body! Skin on the face, hands, neck and chest are the most common areas treated.

How does it work?

Photo-Rejuvenation utilizes Intense Pulse Fluorescence Light to target pigment in the skin for rapid reduction and removal of unwanted pigmentation. Heat is generated so that the skin naturally ejects brown pigment (melanin), or absorbs red pigment (hemogoblin). The Harmony AFT machine supplies a broad spectrum of light that reaches deep down into the collagen level of the skin, allowing for improvement of skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles. It’s also incredibly effective at destroying hair follicles for laser hair removal. Our spa has two laser machines, allowing us to treat a wider spectrum of the community with varying skin pigments. This also allows for less painful treatments.

Having it done:

The laser is passed over the entire treatment area, often multiple times, for maximum results. These treatments provide a high degree of patient satisfaction because there is little downtime, minimal discomfort, and treatment times are short. IPL Photofacials are often combined with microdermabrasion and/or chemical peels for best results. To further maximize treatment results, a vitamin infusion is also done before the first Photofacial treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

Clients usually begin to see noticeable results after just the first treatment! Ten total treatments are often recommended, while the frequency and number of treatments will depend on each client. Treatment recommendation is dependent upon: the amount and extent of skin damage, and/or severity of the skin condition. Treatment for the face usually requires 30 minutes per treatment. We repeat this in a series of six to eight treatments, at one to four week intervals. Consultations are zero cost, and you will be booked with one of our Certified Laser Technicians, who tailor your treatment to your particular skin type and unique skincare requirements.
