Chamber introduces new president

Medicine Hat, AB – The Medicine Hat and District Chamber of Commerce has introduced their new Board of Directors.

Including a new president in Tracy Noullett, who has sat on the board for the last few years.

“It’s a leadership role. But ultimately my job is to make sure that we have all the right people in the right places. We have a very strong board and they have a wealth of information around the table so we make sure to draw on them when we need each one of them. And it’s my job to make sure that each person is in the right spot,” Noullett said.

Noullett is a partner with MNP where she offers business advisory to colleges, municipalities, not-for-profit organizations, and other groups.

After moving to the gas city from northern Alberta to join MNP in 2014, Noullett says that she wanted to join the chamber after seeing how involved they were in the community.

“There are so many aspects that the chamber is involved within this community. And I don’t know that you would see that in some of the big centres. But certainly here there is, from our non-for-profit world, from our business, from our city council,” she continued. “They are constantly reaching out and trying to engage us to be part of what they are doing because it really does speak to the community when the chamber is on board.”

With the chamber getting set for a new year, Noullett says that her goal for 2020 is to connect even more with their members.

“I think it’s really going to be focusing on our members this year. And finding out what do they want from us? And making it about them. I think we do a pretty good job at that but I think there’s always room for improvement,” she smiled.
