Ti-Cats defender McGough: ‘I’m playing for them’ in reflecting on Vikings career

Nov 23, 2019 | 1:01 PM

CALGARY, AB — Hard work, commitment, support.

Three traits Connor McGough credits his success as a Hamilton Tiger-Cat towards.

The Crescent Heights Vikings alumni has chiseled a unique path through the CFL ranks for the better part of three seasons.

Selected in the opening round of the 2017 CFL Entry Draft after helping the Calgary Dinos capture the Hardy Cup and Mitchell Cup the previous fall, the defensive-end continues to catapult his career to new levels.

McGough is now one win away from CFL glory — joining the heavyweight Ti-Cats at McMahon Stadium in Calgary on Sunday in the 107th Grey Cup. All that stands in their way are the underdog Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Mitch Bach of CHAT Sports caught up with the 24-year-old to hear more about his individual success, how often he reflects on his time playing for his hometown Vikings, and how his family has become his greatest support system.
