Mad Hatter & Happy Hatter – November 14

Nov 14, 2019 | 2:16 AM

Happy Hatter
Love the local bakeries over chain stores bakeries.

Mad Hatter
Why do we have yet another Dollar store opening on the one end of town? What does that make it, 5 Dollar stores within a 5-block radius?

Happy Hatter
To the person who shared her Shih-tzu with both adults and children and was surprised when she discovered her dog was loved by many. You are a special person and are appreciated. R.I.P Chesney.

Mad Hatter
Alberta separation supporters are idiots. We are in the middle of Canada. That means no OAS for Alberta seniors or seniors to be. Are Albertans that blind? A provincial police will cost millions to setup. More taxes will occur.

Happy Hatter
So happy to see the “Opioids Don’t Discriminate” event coming to Medicine Hat. It’s not often we get the opportunity to experience such a large exhibit in Medicine Hat.

Mad Hatter
A certain coffee chain is not Canadian or Alberta owned so why do people continue to rush to get their coffee there? There are better local alternatives. Some even roast the beans themselves.

Mad Hatter
Tired of reading people complain about public service workers salaries. I do one of the dirtiest jobs for a little more than minimum wage and you figure I get paid too much?

Happy Hatter
The World Under 17 Hockey challenge has come to an end and I want to recognize Terry Bartman for the exceptional job he did of chairing the Host Organizing Committee. The entire team did a tremendous job, but it all starts at the top with the leadership and organisational skills. A great job done by all!!!!

Mad Hatter
Being close to retirement, can our government guarantee I can collect at 60 or 65 the Alberta version of CPP with equal or more monthly payments? Albertans need guarantees, not a maybe.

Mad Hatter
The crowds along with the 50/50 pot of $20,000 (the Tigers get nowhere near that much) for the gold medal game, that Canada wasn’t even in, would disagree that there was nobody at the U17 games. Maybe those complaining are the old, retired people going to the 3pm games during the week while the rest of us had to work or go to school. If these games had all been at 7PM on a weekend, there would have been a lot more people, but unfortunately there just isn’t enough time to do that.

Mad Hatter
The Alberta government wants to create an Alberta Pension Plan. Sounds interesting but what about all the fallout? Every business that does deductions will need to modify their payroll system or accounting system. This impacts all business owners, who will pay for implementation? New income tax program from dyi to hired businesses will need to be developed. That costs Albertans in the end. Will this new pension give those who want to retire early the ability or maybe you won’t be able to collect until you are 70. Wasn’t the idea of budget cuts to reduce the deficit, not spend it elsewhere?

Mad Hatter
To the person complaining someone wants to be called a lady. WOW! Perhaps you need to pick up the broomstick yourself and take off if you can’t play nice. Come on, people, have some compassion for others instead of judgement.

Mad Hatter
The Alberta Government is doing all these budget cuts but is looking at spending millions for a provincial police force? New uniforms, letterhead, logo, offices, head office, etc. Albertans will pay more taxes for this.

Mad Hatter
That our newest MLA was missing during the Remembrance Day ceremony.
