Mohawks see provincial dreams dashed in shutout loss to Cardston
CARDSTON, AB – As dominant as they’ve been all season, the Medicine Hat Mohawks’ quest for a provincial title ended with a whimper on Friday night.
Visiting the Cardston Cougars in the Alberta Tier II South quarter-finals, the Mohawks failed to find the scoreboard in a 45-0 shutout loss to see their 2019 season come to a close.
The Mohawks ended their season with a 7-2 record in league play, capturing their sixth consecutive Rangeland Football Conference title 44-7 over the Crescent Heights Vikings.
Cardston, who are second in the provincial Tier II rankings, will face the undefeated Holy Trinity Academy Knights in Okotoks on November 9 for a spot in the Tier II South finals.
