Dental office buying back Halloween Candy

Medicine Hat, AB – With November officially here Halloween is done for another year.

While the costumes just go back in the closet, the candy, chips, and chocolate usually linger.

That’s why Southside Dental, located on Strachan Road, is once again hosting its candy buy-back program.

“We decided to do this to just get some more candy off the streets with the kids. Obviously, we are a dental office wanting to make sure everyone keeps their teeth nice and healthy,” said Amanda Birchan with the office.

Kids and their parents can bring in their Halloween candy into the office.

For every pound of candy, Southside Dental is going to give them a dollar, up to $5.

“As well, each kid that does bring anything in whether it just be a dollar for the one pound or five dollars for five pounds, their entire class gets entered in to go see a movie,” Birchan said.

The buy-back isn’t just about dental health though, Birchan says that all of the candy they receive will be sent to troops overseas for their Christmas packages.

“It’s amazing to help bring the community together,” she added.

Southside Dental will be accepting candy now until November 8th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their office 2020 Strachan Rd.
