MEDICINE HAT, AB – It’s a story that’s been written each of the last five years, but the Medicine Hat High Mohawks football team wrote a new chapter on Friday night.

Playing under the lights at the Methanex Bowl with a howling wind behind them, the Mohawks earned a 44-7 victory over the Crescent Heights Vikings to win the 2019 Rangeland Football Conference championship.

It’s Medicine Hat High’s sixth consecutive year winning the RFC title, marking one of the longest championship runs in the program’s history.

Both the Mohawks and Vikings are provincial-bound, with the Mohawks battling the Cardston Cougars on Friday night.

As for Crescent Heights, they’ll wait a week before opening playoffs against Calgary’s Rundle College Cobras on November 9.

The Monsignor McCoy-Eagle Butte Colts meanwhile were victorious in their final game of the season, winning the RFC bronze medal game over the Brooks Buffalos 23-13.
