Sturmay, Skrlik capture Hat Charity Classic titles

MEDICINE HAT, AB — There was no shortage of drama or excitement in the men’s and women’s championship matches at the Hat Charity Classic this year.

Karsten Sturmay of Edmonton and Kayla Skrlik of Calgary both entered the last ends in a 4-4 tie, and managed to claim single points to claim the men’s and women’s titles respectively.

Both squads rolled through the weekend with undefeated records as well, with Sturmay’s rink going 6-0 and Skrlik rattling off five straight victories.
