Shields re-elected in Bow River riding

BROOKS, AB — Martin Shields will once again represent residents of the Bow River riding.

CHAT News is declaring the Conservative candidate as the winner of the riding.
According to the Canadian Press Federal Election tracker, Shields is leading with 83.58 per cent of the vote, with 205 of 213 polls in the riding reporting,

In the 2015 federal election, the former Mayor of Brooks won with 77 per cent of the vote.

Liberal candidate Margaret Rhemtulla finished in second place with 2,902 votes, enough for 5.95 per cent of the vote.

NDP Candidate Lynn MacWilliam finished in third place with 2,807 votes.

People’s Party of Canada candidate Tom Ikert is in fourth place with 1,162 votes.

Green Party candidate Hendrika Maria Tuithof de Jonge has 749 votes in fifth place.

Christian Heritage Party candidate Tom Lipp has received 395 votes to finish in sixth place.
