Patzer elected in Cypress Hills-Grasslands

SWIFT CURRENT, SASK. — Cypress Hills-Grasslands is staying with the Conservative Party.

CHAT News is declaring Jeremy Patzer with the Conservative Party as the winner in the riding. With 170 of 172 polls reporting, he has received 81.12 per cent of the vote.

Patzer will be replacing David Anderson (Conservative), who did not seek re-election. Anderson has represented the riding since 2000.

Prior to the election, Patzer worked for SaskTel for 10 years, and has been involved with the Conservative Party in the riding.

NDP candidate Trevor Peterson finished in second place with 9.49 per cent of the vote.

Liberal candidate William Caton sits in third place with 4.1 per cent

People’s Party of Canada Candidate Lee Harding has received 2.75 per cent of the vote for fourth place.

Green Party Candidate Bill Clary is in fifth place with 1.84 per cent of the vote.

Independent candidate Maria Lewans finished in sixth place with 211 votes, enough for 0.57 per cent of the vote.
