LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police were called to a home on Mt. Sunburst Way at 6:41 pm on Monday, October 14th on reports that a man tried to abduct a young girl.

The seven-year-old and two others, aged six and eight, were playing in the backyard when a man tried to grab her through a fence.

The three children started screaming and ran into the house. The other two girls say they did not see the man.

Police, including a K9 team, searched the area but were not able to find whoever was responsible.

According to the attending officers, this is the second incident in one week where something similar happened.

She had previously told her parents that, as she was walking home from school on October 9th, a man tried to grab her by the arm. The first incident was not reported to police at the time.

Although it has not been confirmed whether the same man was involved in both incidents, the description of the suspect is the same.

He has been described as a Caucasian man with dark hair, a thin build, a tattoo on his right wrist, and a gold ring with a diamond on the right hand. He was wearing a black hoodie, dark pants, and black dress shoes.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call Lethbridge Police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
