Motor vehicle collision blocks traffic on Southview Drive

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries following a motor vehicle collision on Southview Drive Monday afternoon.
At approximately 1 p.m., police responded to the 1400 block of Southview Drive, near Jysk. According to police, a 1989 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck attempted to make a left turn onto Southview Drive after leaving the parking lot. A 1999 Chevrolet Malibu travelling east struck the pickup truck.
Police say the drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Traffic was reduced to one lane for approximately one hour while police cleared the scene. Total damage to both vehicles is estimated at $10,000.
According to police, the pickup driver was charged with failing to proceed when safe.
