REGINA, SK — Cole Sillinger must love playing in front of friends and family.

The 16-year-old recorded his first career multi-goal game in his hometown as the Medicine Hat Tigers defeated the Regina Pats 6-2 on Friday night.

Sillinger, who received first-star honours for his two-goal performance, also recorded an assist with a team-high six shots on goal. Regina has become a sacred place for his hockey career. Not only did he play his first career WHL game last season as a call-up in the Queen City, he also tallied his first career point in Regina.

Medicine Hat is now 4-2-0-0 on the campaign, and host the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday (7:30 p.m.) while Regina falls to 1-4-0-0.

Caleb Willms also found the scoresheet for the Tigers — the young left-winger’s first career goal. Elijah Brown and Eric Van Impe both picked up their first markers of the season, and alternate captain Ryan Chyzowski notched his third of the campaign. Chyzowski chipped in with two helpers to earn three points on the evening.

Garin Bjorklund stopped 22 of 24 shots to pick up his second straight victory. Max Paddock, far busier, allowed six goals on 46 shots.
