Watson breaks Canadian record, advances to IAAF Finals

DOHA, QATAR — Sage Watson has set a new Canadian record in women’s 400m hurdles at the IAAF World Athletics Championships.
Watson, competing in the semifinal races at Doha, Qatar on Wednesday, finished with a time of 54.32 seconds, earning her a spot in the finals.
Watson broke Rosey Edeh’s record of 54.39 seconds, which was set at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
Watson finished second in her race, slightly behind Dalilah Muhammad from the United States (53.91 seconds).
