Watson through to semifinals at World Championship

DOHA, QATAR — Sage Watson has advanced to the semifinals at the International Association of Athletics Federations World Championship.
During her heat Tuesday night in Doha, Qatar, Watson completed the 400 metre hurdles in 55.57 seconds, giving her a second place finish.
Rushell Clayton, representing Jamaica, finished in first place with a time of 55.23 seconds.
The top four finishers in each heat advance to the semifinals. Joining Watson and Clayton in the semifinals are Meghan Beesley of Great Britain (55.97) and Sarah Carli of Australia (56.37).
