Storm prompts Lethbridge Police to adjust services

Sep 30, 2019 | 10:37 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB — The Lethbridge Police Service say they will only be responding to emergency calls due to extreme weather and road conditions following a massive winter storm in southern Alberta.

In a note posted on the police service’s social media page, police say non-emergency calls and non-urgent reports will still be recorded, and officers will be assigned to follow up once conditions in the city improve.

Multiple services in the City of Lethbridge are closed due to the storm. The city says transit is not running Monday morning, but they’re hoping to have it running by the afternoon.

All schools in the city are closed, along with the University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College.
