Tigers dominate Broncos, win 10-1

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Swift Current Broncos did not have an answer for the Medicine Hat Tigers Saturday night.

In a rematch of Friday evening’s Central Division matchup, the Tigers dominated the Broncos in front of the hometown crowd at the Canalta Centre, coming away with a 10-1 victory.

Captain James Hamblin scored his first goal of the season during the game, and finished with two goals and one assist. Teammate Bryan Lockner also scored twice during the game.

Jonathan Brinkman and Nick McCarry each had one goal and one assist through the game, and Cole Clayton had one goal and two assists. Cole Sillinger, Tyler Preziuso and Brett Kemp scored the remaining goals for the Tigers.

Eric van Impe finished the game with three assists.

Tyler Smithies scored the lone goal for the Broncos in the third period.

Garin Bjorklund made 32 saves during the game for the Tigers.

Jordan Fairlie was in net for the Broncos for the first two periods of the game, and faced 30 shots, making 21 saves. Isaac Poulter took over as goaltender in the third period, stopping 10 of 11 shots he faced.

The Tigers finish the weekend on the road, heading up to Calgary to battle the Hitmen on Sunday. The puck drops at 4 p.m.
