Colts repeat as provincial golf champions

RED DEER, AB — The Monsignor McCoy High School Colts have repeated as provincial golf champions.

The Colts finished in first place in the 3A/4A category at the Alberta School Athletic Association golf provincials in Red Deer on Tuesday. The team, which featured Ryan Hodgins, Jacob Dorton, Sam Bratvold and Owen Burzminski overcame a two-stroke deficit during the tournament, finishing with a final two day score of 453.

Hunting Hills finished in second place with a total score of 458, one stroke ahead of St. Paul Regional.

Out of the four team members, Hodgins had the lowest score. He shot a combined 153 (84, 69) over the two day tournament, giving him an eighth place overall finish among individual golfers. Bratvold finished in 13th place with a combined score of 157 (80, 77). Burzminski finished with a combined 169 score (86,79) and Dorton finished with a combined 175 (92, 83).
