MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers have confirmed its three ’99-born players to make the full-time roster for the 2019-20 campaign.

Returning captain James Hamblin, alternate captain Tyler Preziuso, and newly acquired defenceman Parker Gavlas have cemented their spot on the team.

Hamblin is back for his fifth campaign and is coming off a career-high 77 points in 67 games last year. Tyler Preziuso is also a career Tiger, having racked up 46 goals and 116 points in 267 games. Gavlas was acquired by Tigers last week with Edmonton, which sent a 2021 fourth-round pick to the Oil Kings.

Hayden Ostir, a pending over-age player, has decided to step away from the game and focus on his education, according to the Tigers. Ostir, who picked up 22 points in an injury-shortened 49 games last season, is no longer listed on the Tigers roster on its website.

The Winnipeg-product put together four solid campaigns in the WHL, beginning his career with the Spokane Chiefs in 2015 as a 16-year-old. He was traded to the Tigers in the deal which sent Zach Fischer to Spokane. The Tigers also parted ways with ’99-born forward Logan Christensen recently, who has since joined the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

In 195 career games, Ostir racked up 29 goals and 70 points.
