Southern Alberta man tries to enter U.S. with loaded gun and drugs
Cardston, AB β Itβs a case that usually operates in reverse β a U.S citizen tries to cross the border into Canada with a loaded weapon.
However, on Wednesday (Sept. 18), Cardston RCMP with the assistance of United States Customs and Border Protection Officers responded to a complaint of a suspect trying to enter the U.S. while in possession of a loaded prohibited pistol and a loaded shotgun.
Further investigation discovered suspect also had pills suspected to be opioids.
The suspect, 38-year old Manish Sihota of Foothills County, is charged with Controlled Drugs and Substances Act offences and numerous firearms offences, including allegations of breaching a lifetime firearms prohibition order from a previous criminal conviction.
