A-T-B forecast sluggish growth this year
Lack of pipeline capacity just one drag on Alberta economy; ATB

EDMONTON — The chief economist with the Alberta Treasury Branch says the provincial economy is being held back by a lack of pipeline capacity.
Todd Hirsch says there are challenges from all sides, including the transportation problem in the oil patch and trade wars in the global economy.
A-T-B is predicting Alberta’s economy will grow by point 8 per cent this year, and 2 per cent next year.
But Hirsch says that prediction for 2020 is based on clearing some of the oil patch transportation issues, leading to investment in new production.
